Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Schedule and Shift

This position operates on a Monday through Friday schedule, featuring day shifts of 5×8 hours from 08:00 to 16:30. Potential call shifts may be required on weekdays from 16:00 to 22:00 and on weekends from 08:00 to 22:00, encompassing 1-2 days during the week and one weekend every four weeks.

Minimum Experience

A minimum of 2 years of experience is preferred, though first-time travelers will be considered.

Patient Population

This role involves working with a diverse patient demographic ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics.

Certifications Required

• NMTCB and/or ARRT (NM)

General Skills and Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include performing a variety of nuclear medicine procedures, such as:

• HIDA scans
• Bone scans
• Lymphoscintigraphy
• Gastric Emptying studies
• Brain Death evaluations
• Myocardial Perfusion SPECT
• I-123 scan/uptake
• I-131 whole body scans and ablations (less than 30 mCi)
• Renal scans with or without Lasix
• Parathyroid studies

Unit Systems

Familiarity with the following systems is required:

• Epic
• Pyxis
• PACS

Compliance

Full compliance is necessary to start on time; any delays in compliance may result in a postponement of 2 weeks due to the bi-weekly orientation schedule.

Holidays

Travelers may be expected to work holidays based on their assignment period. Specific expectations include:

• Work one major holiday if it occurs during the assignment.
• Work both major holidays if two fall within the assignment.
• Work two major holidays if three occur during the assignment.

Major Holidays include:

• Memorial Day
• Independence Day
• Labor Day
• Thanksgiving/Black Friday
• Christmas Eve/Christmas Day
• New Year’s Eve/New Year’s Day

Floating Requirements

There may be a possibility of floating to other facilities to perform STAT inpatient procedures as needed.

Candidates will undergo a clinical screening process to determine fit for the position. Successful candidates will be forwarded to the management for final decision-making.

Dress Code

Scrub colors should be black, gray, or purple.

Orientation

The number of non-billable orientation hours is determined by contract length.

Locals Accepted

Local candidates are welcome and will receive the same rate as traveling candidates.
