Respiratory Therapist

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive respiratory care to patients across various departments including inpatient, emergency room, and intensive care settings.

Shift Details

• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Schedule: Rotating weekends and holidays, with shifts typically from 0600 to 1800

Responsibilities

• Administer basic respiratory therapies, including ABGs, EKGs, and ventilator management.
• Assist in intubation processes and insert airway devices as needed.
• Conduct regular checks on ventilators and other respiratory equipment.
• Document patient treatments and progress accurately using Cerner.
• Participate in emergency situations, providing support and care as required.
• Collaborate effectively with a team of therapists to ensure optimal patient care.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Respiratory Therapist.
• Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, PALS, Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
• A current RN license in the state of practice is required.
• Experience with ventilators, BiPAP, EKGs, and other respiratory treatments preferred.
• Ability to assist in intubation and respond to high-risk deliveries.

Additional Information

• Coverage for high-risk deliveries is involved, though this occurs infrequently.
• Teamwork and flexibility in assisting other therapists is expected.
• Orientation includes department-specific training with lead therapists.
