Registered Nurse (RN) – Neuro PCU

Scheduling Details

Join our team as a Registered Nurse in the Neuro Progressive Care Unit. Enjoy a night shift schedule of three 12-hour shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM.

• Charting: Experience with EPIC required
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend or six weekend shifts within a six-week block
• Holiday Requirement: Work one holiday every 13-week contract
• Accepting first-time travelers and local candidates
• Pending licenses accepted if from a non-compact state

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)

Required Clinical Skills

• Cardiac monitoring and emergency response, including dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care
• Medication administration, including cardiac drips (no titration)
• Respiratory support using nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway management
• Participation in Rapid Response and adherence to isolation precautions

Unit Details

The Neuro PCU cares for adult patients with neurological conditions, including:

• Neurosurgical recovery
• Stroke management
• Neuro-specific diagnoses
• Medical overflow

The unit includes five dedicated beds for continuous 24-hour epilepsy monitoring. The nurse-to-patient ratio ranges from 1:4 to 1:5.

Floating Policy

Staff may be required to float to other units based on their clinical skill set.
