Registered Nurse (RN) – PCU

Position Overview

We are currently seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU). The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care in a collaborative nursing environment, ensuring the safety and comfort of patients with varying medical conditions.

Scheduling Details

• Shift Hours: 3×12-hour shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• Weekend Requirement: May include every other weekend or a total of six weekend shifts within a six-week scheduling block.
• Holiday Requirement: Must work one holiday per 13-week contract.

Charting Requirements

Experience with Epic charting platform is required.

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)

Clinical Skills Required

• Proficient in cardiac monitoring and management of dysrhythmias, including cardiac drips (without titration).
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, as well as central and peripheral line care.
• Experienced in providing respiratory support using nasal cannulas and oxygen administration, with knowledge of non-invasive airway management.
• Familiar with rapid response protocols and maintaining isolation precautions as needed.
• Experience in PCU, DOU, IMC, or stepdown environments is required.

Unit Details

• Patient Ratios: 1:5
• Serves a diverse patient population, including adults and geriatric patients.
• Specializes in care for Hospitalist Medicine patients, particularly those with renal and other medical diagnoses.
• May require floating to other units within the scope of experience.
