Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical – Neuro

Position Overview

This role is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Medical Surgical – Neuro within a 30-bed acute care unit focusing on Neurosurgery and Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery. The unit operates with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:4, providing an optimal environment for patient care and professional development.

Work Schedule

• Shift: Night shifts, 3×12 hours (19:00 – 07:00)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Must work every other weekend
• Availability required for 2 out of 3 winter holidays, with Christmas time off not approved

Job Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, which includes:

• Administering medications and treatments as prescribed
• Monitoring patient vital signs and progress
• Collaborating with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans
• Documenting patient information accurately in electronic health records using Epic
• Adhering to the float policy as required

Qualifications

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Epic experience is mandatory
• Eligibility to submit with VA license pending
