Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac Telemetry

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in the Cardiac Telemetry unit. The successful candidate will provide high-quality care to patients with various cardiac conditions, utilizing their expertise in telemetry and critical care nursing.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess patients with cardiac conditions, including Atrial Fibrillation, CHF, ACS, CAD, and more.
• Administer medications and manage cardiac drips, both titrated and non-titrated.
• Perform sheath removal and manage external CPAP/BIPAP, as well as other non-invasive airway management techniques.
• Interpret dysrhythmias and provide appropriate management for identified issues.
• Participate in post-operative care following procedures such as CABG, AVR, MVR, TAVR, and other cardiac interventions.
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams and provide patient education as needed.
• Demonstrate proficiency in the use of telemetry and monitoring equipment.
• Adhere to safety protocols and assist with emergency procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience on a cardiac floor required.
• Traveler experience required unless candidate has over 24 months of cardiac experience.
• Certifications: BLS & ACLS, NIHSS required.
• Preferred skills: Arterial line management, wound care/wound vac experience, and charge experience.
• Ability to manage patient ratios in a fast-paced environment with variable acuity levels.

Shift Information

• Shifts: Nights, 36 hours only.
• Weekend Requirement: 4 weekends per 4-week period (flexible).

Additional Information

Contract staff may be assigned to work on a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team and may be required to report to work during catastrophic events, mass casualties, or disasters. Staff may also float to other units at the discretion of management.

Unit orientation consists of 24 hours, and the uniform color for this position is navy blue.
