Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) to join our surgical team. This role involves providing exceptional patient care in the operating room, with a focus on cardiovascular and general surgery.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with circulating and scrubbing in surgical procedures.
• Support various surgical specialties, including cardiac, general, vascular, thoracic, and robotic surgery.
• Perform proficient vein harvesting and radial artery harvesting.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and infection control standards.
• Collaborate effectively with surgical teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Shifts and Scheduling

• 3×12 Day Shifts: 0645-1915
• Every other weekend call required.
• Limited holiday requests: Maximum of one major holiday off.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of Registered Nurse experience.
• At least 1 year of in-specialty experience in operating room settings, particularly in cardiovascular surgery.
• Current BLS certification is required.
• Must have a valid WV or Compact RN License (can submit with pending license).

Skills and Competencies

• Proficient in vascular procedures, including Aortic surgeries and carotid embolectomies.
• Experience in orthopedic surgeries, such as total joints and arthroscopies.
• Knowledgeable in general surgical practices, including laparoscopic surgeries and mastectomies.
• Competent in ENT, urology, and gynecological surgical procedures.
• Familiarity with robotic-assisted surgeries is a plus.

Additional Information

The role requires participation in on-call duties and the ability to respond effectively within a 30-minute timeframe.
