Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN) to provide exceptional nursing care in various Med/Surg Tele units. The ideal candidate will be adaptable and willing to float between multiple units, delivering high-quality care to diverse patient populations.

Position Details

• Shift: Days, Evenings, Nights (Rotating with every other weekend)
• Hours: 36 hours per week

Unit Description

This position involves floating throughout the hospital to multiple Med/Surg Tele areas, including:

• Davenport 5
• Davenport 7
• Davenport 8
• Davenport 9
• Emergency Department
• PH6/7
• Pingree 4
• Overflow

Qualifications

• Experience Required: Minimum 2 years of acute care hospital experience in one location; additional experience as a Traveler is preferred.
• Skill Sets Required: Proficient in telemetry monitoring, including measuring intervals and interpreting tele strips every 4 hours. Experience with TR Band and ability to manage cardiac drips is essential.
• Clinician to Patient Ratio: Up to 5:1 during Days and Evenings; up to 6:1 during Nights.
• Patient Population: Responsibilities include care for Emergency Department border patients, serving as medication nurse in the acute mental health unit, and caring for non-vented patients who are transfer-ready in the ICU.
• Bed Count: 371 total beds across various units, with individual unit sizes ranging from 8 to 41 beds.

Technical Requirements

• EMR System: Experience with EPIC is preferred.
• Certifications Required: Active Massachusetts RN License, AHA BLS certification. ACLS certification is also preferred.
