Registered Nurse (RN) – MS/Tele

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for an MS/Tele position within an Acute Care for the Elderly (ACE) unit. This role is focused on providing exceptional care to hospitalized patients aged 65 and older while promoting their cognitive and physical function. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience in a similar setting.

Scheduling Details

• Shift Hours: Night shifts, 3 x 12-hour shifts (19:00 – 07:30)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Call Off Policy: Facility allowed to call off 1 shift every 2 weeks

Charting and Experience

• Charting Experience: Minimum of 1 year using EPIC
• Accepts First-Time Travelers: Yes
• Local Candidates Accepted: Yes, subject to a radius rule
• License Requirement: Must have an active SC or multistate nursing license (pending licenses are not accepted)

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

Clinical Skills Required

• Experience in MS/Tele nursing
• IV starts and blood product administration
• Management of central, peripheral, and PICC lines
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Remote telemetry monitoring
• Knowledge of heparin protocols and telemetry-capable care
• Proficiency in geriatric-focused care

Unit and Patient Care Details

• Patient Ratios: 1:5
• Unit Specifics: The ACE unit consists of 26 beds dedicated to providing telemetry-capable care for older adults. The focus is on enhancing mobility, recovery, and minimizing the length of stay through a multidisciplinary approach.
• Floating Policy: Staff may be required to float to other units or locations as needed, ensuring they meet qualification and competency standards.

The facility is a regional teaching medical center designated as a Level I Adult and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, featuring extensive specialty programs, including cardiac care, stroke care, and vascular services. The ACE unit is specifically designed to cater to older adults at higher risk for complications.
