Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

This position is located on a locked incarcerated unit within a healthcare facility. Candidates must be comfortable working with the prison population.

Responsibilities

• Float to various Medical-Surgical/Telemetry units, including forensics, inpatient units, and potentially ICU as needed.
• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a challenging environment.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Adhere to all safety and compliance regulations within the facility.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in a relevant specialty.
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH, and CPI (MAB accepted in lieu of CPI).
• Must be open to floating among various units as required.

Work Schedule

Day shifts consist of three 12-hour shifts from 07:00 to 19:00. There are no block schedules available.

Holiday Coverage

Nurses contracted starting in September will be required to work during the holiday season and participate in the holiday rotation. The following holidays will require coverage:

• Thanksgiving
• Black Friday
• Christmas Eve
• Christmas Day
• New Year’s Eve
• New Year’s Day

Contract nurses are expected to work at least three of these six holidays based on their assigned holiday group. Schedule swaps may be arranged with peers to accommodate personal preferences when possible.

Contract Duration

Contracts should extend into the new year to ensure sufficient holiday coverage.
