ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for our Step-Down ICU and ICU units. The ideal candidate will possess strong ICU experience at a Level 1 Trauma Center and may be required to float down to the Step-Down ICU.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to provide comprehensive patient care.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies and procedures, standards of care, and State laws/practice act.
• Document patient care according to established standards of care.
• Develop, initiate, and execute individualized patient care plans as prescribed by the physician and/or hospital policy, including instructions for patients and their families.
• Participate in department or unit performance improvement activities, which may include shared governance.
• Utilize clinical expertise to provide guidance to other units or departments, supporting the patient’s longitudinal plan of care.
• Apply critical thinking skills to enhance patient safety and experience, appropriately escalating issues to the appropriate chain of command.

Shift Information

7:00 AM – 7:30 PM

Holiday coverage is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an ICU setting.
• Current Illinois RN License.
• Current certifications in ACLS, BLS/BCLS, and NIHSS.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; education verification is required.
