Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care in a fast-paced environment while demonstrating critical thinking and effective decision-making.

Shift Details

• Day Shift: 4×12-Hour (07:00 – 19:30)
• Weekend Requirements: 3 weekends (Friday-Sunday) per 4-week schedule

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive patient care in the Emergency Department.
• Evaluate and triage patients effectively according to clinical standards.
• Manage and interpret dysrhythmias and perform necessary interventions.
• Administer continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation as needed.
• Document patient information accurately using EPIC charting system.
• Float to Pediatric Emergency Department when required.

Qualifications

• Current state nursing license.
• ACLS, BCLS by AHA, PALS, TNCC certifications required.
• ENPC certification is preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Emergency Department or Level I Trauma Center.
• Experience with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.
• Experience with continuous IV and procedural sedation preferred.

Additional Information

The Emergency Department operates as a Level 1 Trauma Center, Stroke Center, and Heart Center, including a Pediatric Emergency Department. Current nurse-to-patient ratios range from 1:5 to 1:6, potentially increasing during peak times or holidays. Candidates must be prepared to handle high volume and diverse patient needs efficiently.
