Registered Occupational Therapist

Position Summary:

The Registered Occupational Therapist evaluates, plans, and provides treatment as referred by a physician. This role involves treating patients with disabilities, disorders, and injuries to relieve pain and develop, restore, or maintain physical function. Therapeutic techniques may include the use of exercise, massage, heat, cold, air, light, water, electricity, or sound. Collaboration with family and healthcare team members regarding the patient’s abilities and goals is essential.

Education:

• Bachelor of Science or Master’s degree in occupational therapy from an accredited college or university.
• Licensure requirements as an Occupational Therapist by the Oregon State Board of Health.
• Current valid Oregon driver’s license.
• Current CPR certification.

Experience:

Experience is desired but not mandatory if the educational requirements are met.

Job Knowledge:

Candidates should possess a thorough understanding of therapy procedures, current orthopedic and neurological follow-up procedures, and rehabilitation practices. A positive attitude and effective communication skills are essential. Strong team skills, including interaction, support, and mutual respect, are required.

Skills:

The ideal candidate will have the ability to learn and apply basic computer skills, including:

• Locating and opening documents.
• Completing forms.
• Opening and sending email messages.

Shift Information:

• Monday to Thursday, 40 hours per week, daytime schedule.
• Holiday coverage is required.

Minimum Years of Experience:

Less than 1 year of experience is acceptable.
