Registered Nurse (RN) – Behavioral Health

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) with a specialty in Behavioral Health to join our team for a night shift position. This role offers a guaranteed 36 hours of work per week and requires flexibility for weekend assignments as needed.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development of the patient care plan.
• Attend weekly clinical staffing meetings to review patient treatment plans.
• Provide comprehensive medication education to patients and their families.
• Accurately document and report patients’ emotional and mental observations to the medical and clinical staff.
• Facilitate teaching and educational groups according to the APU schedule.
• Train LPNs and MHTs in essential skills including charting, taking vital signs, patient routines, and de-escalation techniques.
• Actively participate in a Performance Improvement (PI) team or similar task force within the unit.
• Accept lecturing, educational, or marketing assignments as assigned by management.
• Maintain Therapeutic Options certification and ensure it is always current.
• Serve as a positive role model for patients and staff through professional language, attire, hygiene, and behavior.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Psychiatric nursing is required.
• De-Escalation training is preferred.
• Recent traveler experience is a plus.
• Current certifications in NIH and BLS (AHA) are required.
• Oklahoma state nursing license is required.
