Registered Respiratory Therapist

Position Overview

This role requires a Registered Respiratory Therapist with extensive experience in critical care settings, specifically in the ICU, ER, nursery, and medical-surgical floors. The candidate will be responsible for providing care to both pediatric and adult patients, including those needing intubation and mechanical ventilation.

Position Information

• Specialty: Adult critical care, NICU, and PICU experience preferred
• Number of Openings: 5
• Shift: Nights
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
• Weekend Requirements: 36 hours (unless otherwise noted)
• Years of Experience: Greater than 2 years
• Float Requirements: RT floats to all areas

Education & Certifications Required

• Required Certifications: RRT, BLS, ACLS, NRP, and PALS
• Education Modules: Assigned by staff development during onboarding and as needed based on the Learning Management System

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: Approximately 159
• Equipment: Drager V500 ventilators, V60 BiPAP, Hamilton T-1 transport ventilator, Airvo high flow oxygen units, neopuff, Ram cannula
• EMR: EPIC

Hiring Profile

• Must Have Skills/Experience:
  • Experience in a nursery and as part of the resuscitation team
  • Participation in high-risk deliveries
  • Work in an adult ICU
  • Treating pediatric patients in the ER
  • Strong assessment skills
  • Familiarity with mentioned equipment
• Preferred Skillset/Experience: NICU and PICU experience to ensure comfort and competency in treating newborns and critically ill pediatric patients
• Type of Patients: RT floats throughout the hospital serving newborns to adults
• Personality Fit: Team player with effective communication skills; respectful and maintains a positive attitude
