Registered Nurse (RN) – IMC/Tele

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our fast-paced Intermediate Care/Telemetry unit. This position involves providing high-quality patient care in a stepdown unit, focusing on cardiac medical and surgical patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to cardiac medical and surgical patients, including post-procedural cath lab patients.
• Monitor patient conditions and manage a range of cardiac-related diagnoses.
• Taper and manage titratable medications, including Nitroglycerin, Heparin, Diltiazem, Amiodarone, Lasix, Bumex, and Dobutamine.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.
• Participate in patient assessments and assist in the development of care plans.
• Utilize telemetry systems to track and assess cardiac rhythms, with support from a centralized telemetry team.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of recent RN experience in an acute hospital environment.
• Experience with post cardiac surgery patients and management of TR band compression devices.
• Current certifications in ACLS and BLS (AHA).
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips, with support from telemetry technicians.

Working Conditions

This position requires night shifts from 1900 to 0730, with every other weekend and holiday required. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4 during the day and 1:5-6 at night. The unit has a total of 29 beds and is supported by nurse aides, respiratory therapists, and a centralized telemetry team.

Orientation and Training

New team members will complete one shift of HR onboarding and one shift of unit-specific orientation to ensure a smooth transition into the role.

Additional Information

• Floating to other units may be required based on patient census needs.
• Adherence to unit policies and procedures is expected, with no self-scheduling available.
• Scrub color and dress code are flexible; scrubs are not provided.
