Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac Telemetry

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team in the Cardiac Telemetry unit. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cardiac care, with a focus on providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patients with cardiac conditions, including Atrial Fibrillation, Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), and Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS).
• Administer medications and manage cardiac drips, including titration and non-titration protocols.
• Perform sheath removals and interpret dysrhythmias.
• Care for patients undergoing various cardiac procedures such as post-myocardial infarction (MI) and pre/post cardiac catheterization.
• Utilize and manage equipment including external CPAP/BIPAP, nasal cannulas, and non-invasive airway management devices.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient care and outcomes.
• Participate in hospital Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team responsibilities as needed during critical events.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience on a cardiac floor required.
• Traveler experience preferred unless the candidate has over 24 months of cardiac experience.
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
• Preferred skills include arterial line management, wound care (including wound vac), and charge nurse experience.

Unit Details

• Patient-to-nurse ratios: 1:6, varying based on acuity.
• Shifts available: Nights, with a total of 36 hours per week.
• Contract lengths accepted: 13 to 26 weeks.
• Weekend requirement: 4 out of 4 weekends (flexible scheduling).
• Orientation: 24 hours.

Special Procedures and Equipment

• Common procedures include CABG, AVR, MVR, TAVR, and other cardiac surgeries.
• Equipment utilization includes arterial lines, dopplers, bladder scanners, EKG machines, and chest tubes.
