Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery (L&D)

This position involves the assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation of nursing care for patients in accordance with organizational policies and standards of professional nursing practice. The role requires utilizing specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills necessary to assess data and plan, provide, and evaluate care suitable for the physical and developmental age of assigned patients.

Position Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate patient needs and develop care plans that meet individual needs.
• Implement nursing interventions based on established nursing care plans and recognized standards of care.
• Monitor patients during labor and delivery, providing support and education to patients and families.
• Document nursing care and patient responses accurately and timely in accordance with organizational policies.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure quality care delivery.
• Provide support and education to patients regarding labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery.
• Oversee and guide the nursing care provided by support staff as appropriate.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of recent high-volume Labor & Delivery experience.
• Active RN license in Maryland.
• Current certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), EFM, and NIHSS.
• Willingness to obtain EFM Certification and NIHSS Certification within 48 hours if offered.
• COVID-19 vaccination required; declinations not accepted.
• Previous travel experience is preferred.
• Must be flexible with scheduling and availability to meet facility requirements.

Additional Information

This role will require working a guaranteed 36-hour schedule, with shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM. Weekend schedules will be determined based on facility needs.
