Long Term Care Registered Nurse (LTC RN)

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Long Term Care Registered Nurse (LTC RN) to provide high-quality care in a nursing home environment. The ideal candidate will possess experience in elderly care and a commitment to improving patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments and develop care plans.
• Administer medications and perform clinical skills, including IV therapy, catheterization, and ostomy care.
• Maintain accurate charting and documentation of patient information.
• Serve as charge nurse when needed, overseeing nursing staff and delegating tasks appropriately.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including therapy, social workers, dietary, and activities staff.
• Engage in team conferences as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Long Term Care or skilled nursing facility.
• Current BLS certification (AHA) is required.
• Experience working with elderly populations, particularly those with dementia and rehabilitation needs.

Shift Schedule

This position involves evening shifts from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM, with a commitment to working every other weekend and some holidays.

Additional Information

• Facility Type: Nursing home attached to a hospital.
• Total Beds/Residents: 70, predominantly private rooms.
• Staffing Ratios: 1 RN to 20 patients, 1 LPN to 20 patients, and 1 CNA to 8 patients.
• Available resources include respiratory therapy on-site 24/7 and a pharmacy with a medication dispensing system.
• Floating to other units may be required.
• Dress code: Solid color scrubs that are clean and professional.
