Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical – Neuro

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team on a Neuro Surgical unit. The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with a preference for neuro experience. This role requires the ability to work effectively within a fast-paced environment, handling a diverse range of neuro diagnoses and surgical procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience.
• Required certification: BCLS.
• Preferred certification: NIH.
• Neuro experience is preferred.

Position Details

• Patient-to-nurse ratio: 1:5-6.
• Shift: Night shifts – 3×12 hours (18:45 – 07:15).
• Contract length: 13-26 weeks.
• Orientation: 2 shifts on the unit following hospital-based orientation.
• Blocked scheduling may be available; inquiries should be made during the submission process.

Work Environment

The position may require participation in the Storm Team or Hurricane Team, with expectations for staff to report for duty during catastrophic events, mass casualties, or disasters. Flexibility for weekend shifts is necessary, with an anticipated commitment of 12-16 weekend shifts per contract.

Unit Information

• Unit system: Pyxis, SBAR, EPIC for medication, documentation, and communication.
• Expect to float to other units as needed.
• Dress code: Navy scrubs are required.

Special Requirements

Candidates must pass EKG testing prior to the start of the assignment for this specialty area.
