Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our team on the 5th Floor Med Surg unit. This position involves providing high-quality care to patients in a medical-surgical setting, including those within the prison population. The ideal candidate will demonstrate comfort and adaptability in working with diverse patient groups, including those in forensic and inpatient units.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients within a medical-surgical environment.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and monitor patient responses.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop patient care plans.
• Assist in patient education regarding health conditions and post-discharge needs.
• Participate in the holiday rotation, working three out of six designated holidays.
• Float to other medical-surgical/telemetry units as needed.

Qualifications

• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIH, and CPI (MAB accepted in lieu of CPI).
• A minimum of one year of nursing experience is required.
• Ability to work with a diverse patient population, including those within the correctional system.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Flexible schedule to accommodate night shifts and holiday requirements.

Shift Details

This position requires night shifts, specifically 3×12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00.
