Registered Nurse (RN) – Operating Room (OR)

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in the Operating Room (OR) to join our dynamic surgical team. This position offers an opportunity to engage in a wide range of surgical services and provides critical care to surgical patients.

Shift Details

• 10-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
• Weekend On-Call Requirements:
  • Day call on weekends: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM on Saturdays and Sundays.
  • Night call on weekends: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
• One night call during the week from Monday to Thursday from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
• One weekend of call per month, rotating days and nights.

Job Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse in the Operating Room will be responsible for:

• Providing nursing care in the perioperative setting for patients undergoing surgery.
• Collaborating with surgical teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Administering medications and monitoring patient vital signs during procedures.
• Maintaining a sterile environment and adhering to best practices and protocols.
• Educating patients and their families regarding surgical procedures and postoperative care.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an RN in the Operating Room (OR) is required.
• Preferred experience in Orthopedics, General Surgery, Endo-Vascular, Urology, or Obstetrics.
• Active Michigan nursing license is required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA is required.

Attendance Policy

Adherence to the attendance policy is critical. Any RN who is absent from a scheduled shift or late for more than 20 minutes three times will be terminated. Exceptions will be reviewed in instances of communicable diseases or hospitalization with proper documentation.
