ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced ICU Registered Nurse to join our team. This position requires a strong background in critical care nursing and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients in a 20-bed Medical Surgical Intensive Care Unit.
• Monitor patient conditions, including the ability to read telemetry strips and take appropriate actions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including attending physicians and residents, available 24/7 in the ICU.
• Care for patients with a variety of critical diagnoses, such as substance abuse/overdose, severe psychiatric conditions, DKA, sepsis, GI bleed, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, renal failure, and cardiogenic shock.
• Float to Med/Surg units as required, managing up to four or five patients when necessary.
• Utilize the EPIC electronic medical record system for accurate and comprehensive patient documentation.
• Adhere to department policies and procedures, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Active Massachusetts RN license.
• Current certifications in BLS and ACLS.
• A minimum of 2 years of continuous ICU experience, preferably in a Medical/Surgical ICU setting.
• Ability to work rotating shifts as required; night shifts do not rotate.
• Telemetry competency is essential.

• On-site parking is provided free of charge.
• RN to Patient Ratio: 1:2 or 1:1 with high acuity; 1:4 or 1:5 when floated to other Medical/Surgical areas.
• This position requires nights and every other weekend (EOW).
