ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated ICU Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in a Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) to join our dynamic team. This role requires a strong foundation in adult critical care, effective communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Unit Information

The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is a Level III Trauma Center, comprising a 20-bed Medical/Surgical ICU. Our team is committed to providing exceptional care for a diverse range of adult patients with complex diagnoses, including:

• Substance Abuse/Overdose
• Severe Psychiatric Conditions
• Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA)
• Sepsis
• Gastrointestinal Bleed
• Respiratory Failure
• Cardiac Arrest
• Renal Failure
• Cardiogenic Shock

Our medical team, including attendings and residents, is available in the ICU 24 hours a day to support patient care.

Work Schedule

This position requires working nights and every other weekend with the option of 36 or 48 hours per week. Some floating to Medical/Surgical units may be required, with a typical patient ratio of 1:2 or 1:1 for high acuity cases, and 1:4 or 1:5 when floated.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of continuous MICU experience required.
• Proficiency in reading telemetry strips is essential.
• Telemetry competency required.
• Active Massachusetts RN License.
• AHA BLS & ACLS certifications are mandatory.

Patient Population

The ICU cares for all adult patient populations with complex medical needs.

Charting System

Experience with EPIC or similar electronic medical record (EMR) systems is preferred.
