ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse to join our medical team. This position requires a strong background in critical care nursing and expertise in telemetry monitoring, with a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.

Position Details

• Employment Type: 36 or 48 hours per week, nights, and every other weekend.
• Unit Description: 20-bed Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) caring for diverse adult patient populations with conditions such as substance abuse/overdose, severe psychiatric issues, DKA, sepsis, GI bleeding, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, renal failure, and cardiogenic shock.
• Patient Ratios: 1:2 or 1:1 with high acuity patients; 1:4 or 1:5 when floated to other Medical/Surgical areas.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive and compassionate care to critically ill patients.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips effectively.
• Collaborate with attending physicians and residents who are present in the ICU 24 hours a day.
• Float between medical/surgical units as necessary, managing an appropriate patient load.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of continuous work experience in a Medical/Surgical ICU is required.
• Ability to read telemetry strips is essential.
• Active nursing license in Massachusetts.
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
• Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, specifically EPIC, is preferred.
