Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) with expertise in Medical/Surgical and Telemetry care. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to manage a variety of patient diagnoses and perform essential nursing duties.
Job Details
- Target Ratios: 1:5-6
- Shift: 12-hour Days; 36 or 48 hours accepted
- Contract Length: 13-26 weeks
- Unit Orientation: 24 hours
- Hospital Orientation: Attendance required for daily classes during the first week
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients with diverse medical conditions, including dementia, diabetes, COVID-19, pneumonia, COPD, sepsis, and more.
- Monitor patients using telemetry and respond effectively to dysrhythmias.
- Administer medications and perform standard nursing procedures, including IV management, blood product administration, and wound care.
- Utilize Rapid Response Team protocols as needed.
- Manage colostomy care, feeding tube care, and hemodialysis pre/post management.
- Provide non-invasive airway management and utilize various oxygen delivery systems.
- Maintain adherence to isolation precautions and other safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Minimum Years of Experience: 2 years in a similar role

- Required Skills:
- Medical/Surgical knowledge
- Telemetry remote monitoring
- Interpretation of dysrhythmias
- IV insulin protocols
- Central line and peripheral line management
- Phlebotomy
- PICC line management
- Chest tube management
- PCA and Heparin administration
- Certifications: BCLS required
Additional Requirements
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start for this specialty.
- Contract staff may be assigned to work within a Storm Team or Hurricane Team and report to work during catastrophic events.
- Floating to other units as required is expected, with weekend shifts required (12-16 per contract).
