Cardiac Catheterization Technologist II

Job Description

The Cardiac Catheterization Technologist II is an essential member of the patient care team. This role involves close collaboration with other team members to ensure continuous, quality care for patients. The technologist embodies a patient and family-centered care philosophy in all interactions with patients, families, and healthcare personnel, while prioritizing the understanding and fulfillment of customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the preparation and recovery of patients undergoing cardiac procedures.
  • Conducting hemodynamic measurements using advanced systems.
  • Collaborating effectively with healthcare professionals to ensure high standards of patient care.
  • Supporting a dynamic cardiac catheterization lab environment with a focus on patient safety and comfort.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
  • At least 1 year of travel experience preferred.
  • Current certification as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) required.
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.

Work Schedule

This position typically offers either three 12-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts per week. Weeknight and weekend call may be required during the contract period, but no weekend or holiday shifts will be assigned. During a 13-week contract, expect 1-3 weeknight shifts and possibly 1 weekend shift, though weekend shifts are not guaranteed.

Unit Information

The cardiac catheterization lab features seven modern procedure rooms and a hybrid OR, all upgraded within the last 1-5 years. It includes a 12-bay area for pre-procedural preparation and recovery. The lab averages over 30 cases daily, ranging from outpatient right heart catheterizations and stable coronary angiograms to complex coronary, structural, and vascular interventions. The primary charting system utilized is Epic, and hemodynamic measurements are performed on the Siemens Sensis system.
