Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN)

The Operating Room Registered Nurse performs essential duties as a Circulating Nurse while acting as an advocate for patients undergoing anesthesia. This role is vital in providing safe and effective care for surgical patients, addressing their physiological and functional needs throughout the surgical process.

Responsibilities:

• Provide patient advocacy for anesthetized patients in the operating room.
• Ensure safe and effective care during surgical procedures.
• Interact with various patient populations, including pre-natal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams.
• Assess the individual needs of patients based on their intellectual and physical capabilities.

Qualifications:

• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required.
• One (1) to three (3) years of experience in an Operating Room setting.

Work Schedule:

This position requires a commitment of 40 hours per week with a mix of 8- and 10-hour shifts. On-call duties are required, including approximately three weeknights a month from 5 PM to 7 AM and one weekend day per month, either Saturday or Sunday from 7 AM to 7 AM.
