Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This position involves providing high-quality care in a 25-bed Labor and Delivery unit that includes L&D, postpartum, newborn care, ORs, recovery rooms, and ANU rooms.

Unit Information

• Bed Count: 5 Labor and Delivery Rooms, 12 Postpartum Rooms, 2 Operating Rooms, 2 Recovery Rooms, and 2 ANU rooms with 4 beds.
• Average Daily Census: 15-25 mothers, babies, and labors.
• Clinician to Patient Ratio:
  • L&D: 1:2-3 for evaluations, 1:1 for active labor, magnesium drips, or epidurals.
  • Postpartum: 1:3-4.
• Charting System: EPIC.
• Rotation: Primarily a night position with weekend shifts required, additional rotation to days as needed.

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts RN License.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification (preferred).
• NRP & EFM certifications (every 2 years for Labor and Delivery).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, and Newborn Care.

Skills Required

• Labor and Delivery expertise.
• Postpartum care knowledge.
• Ability to circulate in the OR.
• Newborn care proficiency.
