Pediatric ER Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Pediatric ER Registered Nurse to join our team. This position requires strong pediatric experience and certification in various essential areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care in a Pediatric Emergency Department.
• Manage patient ratios of 1:4 during standard operations, which may increase during busy periods.
• Occasionally float to Pediatric admission floors as needed to meet facility staffing needs.
• Conduct triage, pediatric dosage calculations, IV starts, and phlebotomy procedures.
• Interpret 12 Lead EKGs and cardiac dysrhythmias.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Pediatric ER, Adult/Pedi combined ED, or similar environment.
• BLS, ACLS, NIH, PALS, and ENPC certifications are required.
• Pediatric experience is essential.
• No locals accepted within a 100-mile radius.
• Pending licenses are accepted.

Shift and Scheduling

• This position requires availability to work on holidays, including Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day for holiday pay.
• Travelers will be scheduled for weekends as necessary, with weekend days consisting of Saturday and Sunday, and weekend nights covering Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
• RTO requests greater than 7 days need prior approval.
• Guaranteed hours are 36 hours per week, with the possibility of being called off up to three times during a 13-week assignment.

Special Requirements

• Experience with trauma/resuscitation preferred.
• Must be COVID vaccinated, with exceptions accepted for religious and medical reasons upon completion of, and compliance with, provided forms and requirements.

Unit Information

• Level I Trauma facility, teaching environment, focused on short-term acute care with a total of 554 staffed beds.
• Scrub color is black; charting is done via Cerner.
• No parking fees for staff.
