Registered Nurse (RN)

Shift Information: 12-hour night shifts from 1845 to 0715, scheduled for 36 hours per week following the first week of orientation. No guarantee of hours.

Minimum Years of Experience: 2 years

• ACLS
• BLS/BCLS

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in this role will float between various medical and surgical units. All nurses must possess an active Hawaii Nursing License by the start of the assignment. Medical and religious exemption requests will not be accepted in lieu of documented proof of immunity.

General Job Duties

• Flex RN will provide care in various medical and surgical units.
• You will be required to adapt to multiple department needs on a rotating basis.

Equipment Utilized

• Meditech EMR
• Pyxis
• Wound vac
• Chest tubes

Skills and Experience

Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of experience, with a preferred range of 2-10 years.

Licensures and Certifications

• Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
• Preferred certifications: PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, ENPC.

Floating Information

The Registered Nurse may float to other units, which may include:

• Medical Unit
• Laulima Unit
• Cardiovascular Unit (on rare occasions)

Bed Capacity and Nurse-Patient Ratios

• Medical Unit: 77 beds; Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6 during days and evenings, and 1:8 during nights.
• Laulima Unit (Surgical Acute): 18 beds with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio.
• Cardiovascular Unit: 15 beds with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio.

Note: Ratios may vary due to unexpected leaves.

Dress Code

Professional nursing attire is required; clean scrubs are mandatory.

Training and Orientation

A comprehensive orientation period will be provided for each unit.
