Central Sterile Technician

Job Summary: Responsible for performing sterilization procedures on medical instruments and equipment in accordance with established procedures, infection control standards, industry standards, recommended practices on sterilization, and regulatory requirements.

Essential Functions:

• Processes specialty and general instruments.
• Resets instrument sets accurately and efficiently.
• Decontaminates instruments and equipment in accordance with procedure.
• Maintains stock levels in the Central Sterile Department.
• Prepares and assembles surgical trays and equipment following established tray listings for issue, storage, or further processing.
• Communicates instrument repair needs to supervisor.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Licenses and Credentials: Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) – Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) required.

Experience: 2-4 years of related experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of case cart assembly.
• Familiarity with the regulatory standards of materials management.
• Ability to conduct tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.

Schedule:

Monday to Friday with rotating weekends.

Start date will be based on credentialing clearance. If not cleared by the posted start date, a rescheduled start date will be necessary.
