Physical Therapist (PT) – Outpatient

Shift Information

This position requires 8-hour shifts from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Weekend Requirement

Please confirm specific weekend requirements with the unit.

Floating Requirements

All clinicians may float within their skillset to meet facility needs.

On-Call Requirement

There is no on-call requirement for this position.

Patient Ratios

Patient ratios are set at 1:1.

Experience Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience is required.
• First-time travelers are not accepted.

Certification Requirements

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Experience in manual therapy is required.
• Dry needling and hand therapy experience are preferred.

Block Schedule

This position does not allow for block scheduling.

Local Candidates

Local candidates are accepted.

Licensure Requirements

A Maryland state or compact Physical Therapist license is required upon submittal.

Time Off Restrictions

Up to 2 pre-approved time-off requests are permitted per contract.

Unit Requirements

• Outpatient clinic experience is required.
• Experience in a community hospital setting is required.
• Experience working with geriatric, neurologic, and orthopedic patient populations is essential.
• Experience with adaptive devices, assistive devices, body mechanics, pain management, sensory response, skin integrity, strength testing, and vital sign assessment is required.
• Experience in assessment, discharge planning, evaluation, plan-of-care development, and time-management documentation is essential.
• Experience in creating home exercise programs, medication education, patient/family education, and safety and injury prevention is required.
• Ability to recognize signs and symptoms of physical, sexual, or psychological abuse is necessary.

Unit Information

The unit comprises an outpatient physical therapy department serving adult and geriatric patients.

Equipment Experience Requirements

• Experience with crutches and gait belts is required.
• Experience with lower-extremity prosthetics is required.
• Experience with shoulder slings and soft/hard collars is required.
• Experience with traction tables is required.

Charting System

The charting systems utilized include Net Health and PowerChart/Cerner.
