Cardiac Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cardiac Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced telemetry unit. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, experience with cardiac telemetry, and the ability to thrive in a challenging environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess cardiac patients, including those with conditions such as Congestive Heart Failure, Arrhythmias, and post-cardiac catheterizations.
• Administer cardiac drips such as Dobutamine, Amiodarone, and others as per physician orders.
• Perform sheath pulls and apply TR Bands and Femstop as necessary.
• Participate in the care of patients undergoing pacemaker and ICD implantations.
• Float to other units as required and take on additional responsibilities during emergencies or disasters.

Qualifications

• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications are required.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in Cardiac Tele, Progressive Care Unit (PCU), or similar settings is required.
• First-time travelers are encouraged to apply.
• Must demonstrate strong teamwork and communication skills in a high-pressure environment.

Work Schedule

This position offers a 3×12 hour shift from 1845 to 0715, totaling 36 hours per week. Candidates must be available for weekend shifts (5-6 shifts in a 6-week scheduling period) and occasional floating to other units as necessary.

Unit Highlights

The cardiac telemetry unit monitors a variety of cardiac patients and is equipped to handle multiple complex cases simultaneously. Orientation for new staff lasts for 24 hours, and scrubs are navy in color.

Additional Information

• Contract staff may be assigned to work with a Storm Team or Hurricane Team as needed.
• All candidates must pass EKG testing prior to employment.
