Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN)

Shift Details

Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM with weekend, holiday, and call responsibilities.

Contract Length

13 weeks

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current New York State Registered Nurse license.
• BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.

Experience

Preferred candidates will have the following:

• Preceptorship, charge, and leadership experience.
• Thorough knowledge of nursing principles, with the ability to provide high-quality patient care and assess clinical, teaching, mental, and spiritual needs of patients.
• Familiarity with typical clinical equipment and instrumentation in an operating room or ambulatory surgery unit setting.
• Ability to recognize safety issues for self and others and safely utilize lifts for patient mobility.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to function well in stressful situations.

Skills

• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Leadership skills with the capacity to prioritize and delegate effectively.
• Ability to interpret lethal dysrhythmias.

Responsibilities

May involve assuming responsibilities as a charge nurse.

On-Call Requirements

Must be available for on-call duties with a response time of 30 minutes.
