Emergency Department (ED) Boarder Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

The Emergency Department (ED) Boarder Registered Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality patient care in the ED or Acute Surgical Unit (ASU) settings. The role involves caring for border patients while supporting the medical-surgical and telemetry units as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for border patients in the ED or ASU area.
• Float to medical-surgical/telemetry units as needed to ensure coverage and support.
• Conduct assessments, administer medications, and collaborate with the healthcare team to provide optimal patient care.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures, including infection control and patient safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with a valid state license.
• Two years of nursing experience required.
• Must have completed at least one travel assignment.
• Current certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) are required.
• Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam, achieving a minimum overall score of 80% and a score of 100% on lethal rhythms.
• Experience with Cerner electronic health record preferred.
• Skill set required includes experience in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing.

Work Schedule

This position offers a 3×12 hour shift pattern, specifically days from 07:00 to 19:30. Employees can expect no weekend or holiday shifts and will not be required to be on call.
