Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our medical-surgical team. The ideal candidate will be flexible with their schedule, willing to work holidays, and possess the ability to care for patients, including those with COVID-19. Additionally, the nurse will be part of an Inclement Weather Team, ready to respond in emergencies.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a medical-surgical unit.
• Administer medications and treatments as per physician orders.
• Participate in patient assessments and care planning.
• Monitor patients’ health status and report changes to the healthcare team.
• Assist with various medical procedures, including Heparin drips and wound dressing changes.
• Contribute to patient education and support.
• Respond to emergency situations and assist in disaster preparedness plans.
• Attend regular unit team meetings and any additional scheduled meetings required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience is required.
• Experience with the EPIC electronic health record system is mandatory.
• Must hold current BCLS certification.
• Prior experience with CPI and in a charge nurse role is preferred.
• All travelers are required to complete EKG testing prior to starting.

Work Schedule

• Shift: 12-hour nights from 18:45 to 07:15.
• 36 or 48-hour work weeks accepted.
• Floating to similar units may be required.
• Weekend and holiday shifts will be expected, including assignment to every other weekend.

Contract Details

• Contract duration of 13 to 26 weeks is acceptable.
• Unit orientation will be provided for 24 hours.
• Applicants may need to participate in a Storm Team or Hurricane Team as required.
• Consolidation to a centralized office may occur mid-contract, with reassignment to units as needed.

Scrubs

Navy scrubs are not provided and should be brought by the employee.
