Oncology Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Oncology Registered Nurse to join our outpatient ports and injections clinic. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care to patients receiving oncology medications and IV treatments.

Schedule

This is a full-time position requiring a commitment of 40 hours per week. Flexible scheduling options are available, with the choice of four 10-hour shifts or five 8-hour shifts. If working four days, the day off will likely be Friday.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer IV medications and injections to oncology patients.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and best practices in medication administration.
• Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals and support staff.
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions and respond effectively to emergencies.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding treatment plans and medication management.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure with oncology certification.
• Completion of the ONS Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy course with a valid certification.
• A minimum of 3 years of current outpatient oncology or medical infusion experience.
• At least 1 year of outpatient nursing experience required.
• EPIC training and experience with electronic health records preferred.
• Strong IV skills and experience required.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Certifications

• BLS certification is required.
