Cath Lab Tech

The Cath Lab Tech position requires experienced professionals dedicated to providing quality care in procedural settings. This role involves participation in various complex procedures, ensuring optimal patient outcomes and safety throughout the catheterization process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain the sterile field during catheterization procedures.
• Assist with various cath lab procedures including Balloon Angioplasty, PCI, Stents, Thrombectomy, Impella insertion, and both Left and Right Heart Catheterization.
• Monitor patient vitals and manage PA lines and telemetry.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of Structural Heart procedures.
• Occasionally facilitate patient holding area activities within the Cath Lab.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Cath Lab Tech.
• First-time travelers are accepted.
• Required skills include Scrub, Monitor, PA Lines, Telemetry, and experience in Structural Heart & TAVR.
• Relevant certifications in ACLS, BLS, and at least one of the following: RCIS or ARRT.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Experience in circulating, initiating IVs, and administering conscious sedation.
• Familiarity with advanced Cath Lab procedures such as Watchman Procedures, Septal Closure, Ablations, Coil Embolization, and Filter Placement.
• Proficiency in EKG settings and rhythm interpretation.

Work Schedule:

• 40 hours per week, consisting of 4 ten-hour shifts (07:00 – 17:30), Monday through Friday.
• Call and weekend availability required, with approximately 9-11 days on-call within a 6-week schedule.
• Floating to other departments is rare but may occasionally occur.

Unit Information:

Expect to assist in some of the more complex procedures performed in the lab, primarily complex PCIs. The unit employs EPIC and MAC Lab systems for operational efficiency.

Orientation Information:

Start dates are determined based on the scheduling of classes and trainer availability, thus may vary. It is essential to maintain full availability in the initial week for orientation, as missing any aspect may lead to a delayed or canceled start.

Additional Information:

Scrubs will be provided for this role. Candidates must provide their interview availability within the next 72 hours upon submission to ensure consideration.

Structural Heart scrub experience is a strict requirement for this position. Screening will not proceed without this qualification.
