Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

This position is within a secure incarcerated unit of a hospital setting. Candidates must be comfortable working with the prison population and providing care in this unique environment.

Responsibilities

• Float between various medical-surgical and telemetry units, including forensics, inpatient units, and potentially the ICU.
• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to patient care plans.

Qualifications

• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and CPI (MAB accepted in place of CPI).
• A minimum of one year of nursing experience is required.
• Open to first-time travelers and local candidates.

Holiday Requirements

Contract nurses are expected to participate in the holiday rotation and work three of the following six holidays:

• Thanksgiving
• Black Friday
• Christmas Eve
• Christmas Day
• New Year’s Eve
• New Year’s Day

Holiday preferences can be arranged through schedule swaps, when feasible.

Work Schedule

Shifts consist of three 12-hour days from 07:00 to 19:00. Block scheduling is not available.

All contracts starting in September should extend into the new year for effective holiday coverage.
