Registered Nurse (RN) – Pediatric Clinic

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to provide exceptional nursing care in a pediatric rheumatology setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting patients and their families through evidenced-based practices and effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Address the psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administer medications and treatments while monitoring for side effects and documenting patient history, symptoms, and care provided.
• Assess learning needs and educate patients, family members, and caregivers; identify issues and available resources.
• Use critical thinking skills to evaluate physical, psychosocial, social, cultural, spiritual, and developmental needs of patients and families.
• Communicate findings to appropriate healthcare team members.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans utilizing evidence-based practices, and monitor patient progress towards treatment and teaching goals.
• Perform timely reassessments and documentation of care and treatment provided.
• Anticipate and plan for admission, discharge, and transfer needs to ensure efficient patient flow.
• Demonstrate effective management of equipment and supplies.
• Incorporate patient safety practices to promote a safe environment, resulting in positive patient outcomes.
• Participate in nursing research and quality improvement initiatives.
• Foster clear communication of patient information across the continuum of care.
• Adhere to clinical policies and standards, analyzing documentation for organizational compliance.
• Assist in the development and implementation of operational procedures.
• Educate patients on the use of home medical equipment.

Requirements

• Graduate of a Registered Nursing program; a Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Completion of a Nurse Residency Program.
• Six (6) months to one (12) months of clinical patient care experience in a relevant setting.
• Current RN license in good standing in the state of TX or a compact state, if applicable.
• Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.

Work Schedule

This position requires a commitment to full-time hours, consisting of five days per week, with each shift lasting eight hours.
