Position Overview
The Cath Lab Technologist plays a crucial role in cardiovascular procedures. This position involves working in a fast-paced environment, ensuring the smooth operation of catheterization labs and delivering high-quality patient care.
Shift Details
- Work schedule: 4×10 hour day shifts (07:00 – 17:30) with variations as necessary to complete all procedures.
- Daily caseload includes running 4 to 5 labs per day, with a total case load of approximately 20-25 cases daily.
- On-call requirements include one weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) every 7 weeks, plus a weekly evening shift.
- Availability for holidays as needed.
Responsibilities
- Assist in coronary diagnostic and interventional procedures as a scrub and monitor tech.
- Provide quality patient care and support to medical staff during procedures.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and sterile techniques while operating in the cath lab environment.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a cath lab setting.
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
- Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, and ARRT or RCIS (either certified or in progress).
- Must possess a valid South Carolina license (SCRQSA).
- A radiation badge is mandatory and must be provided by the agency; the facility does not supply badges.
Additional Information
- Cath Lab experience is essential, with proficiency in coronary diagnostic and interventional procedures.
- Block scheduling may be considered with management approval, based on unit requirements.
- Local candidates may be accepted on a case-by-case basis.
- This is an acute care environment with a total of 304 staffed beds.
- Charting system utilized is EPIC.
- Parking is available without associated fees, and parking passes will be provided upon badge pickup.
Emergency Preparedness
Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June to November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams. If this poses a concern, consider not confirming any new or extended assignments during this period, particularly in peak months of August and September.
