Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in emergency care, including trauma and critical care.

Job Details

• Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts (7 PM – 7 AM)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Years of Experience: Minimum of 2 years required
• Travel Experience: At least 1 prior travel assignment

Required Certifications

• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI)
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) or Advanced Stroke Life Support (ASLS)

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Emergency Room (ER)
• Patient Volume: Approximately 180-200 visits per day
• Nurse-Patient Ratio: 1:4
• Emergency Medical Records: Meditech 6.15
• Orientation: Floor-specific orientation of 2 shifts

• Beds for behavioral lock-down with psychological monitor staffing
• Centralized monitoring technology for telemetry
• Dedicated respiratory therapists available 24/7
• In-house pharmacy available 24/7

Other Requirements

• Every other weekend and holiday commitment required
• Auto lunch deductions are applicable
• Scrub color: Caribbean Blue

Common Diagnoses/Patient Types

The Emergency Room serves a diverse patient population including pediatric to geriatric cases, trauma admissions, and cerebrovascular accident (CVA) care. Some orthopedic cases are managed on-site, while specific trauma and burn cases are transferred to specialized centers.

• Compliance with the callout process is crucial.
• Completion of mandatory Orientation and Readiness Training (ORT) during the first week is essential.
