Burn ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

The Burn ICU Registered Nurse plays a critical role in the care of adult patients with complex surgical and medical needs. This position involves working within a closed ICU model where all patients are managed by a dedicated team, ensuring continuity of care and comprehensive treatment for critically ill patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the Burn/Surgical ICU, focusing on complex surgical patients and acutely ill medical patients.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team, including advanced practice providers and attending physicians, to deliver optimal patient care.
• Utilize advanced critical care skills and knowledge to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring accurate documentation in patient records.
• Monitor and report any changes in patient condition, acting swiftly to address any emergent issues.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2+ years of experience in an intensive care unit (ICU) setting, with a focus on burn care preferred.
• At least 1 year of travel nursing experience strongly preferred.
• Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Active nursing license with verification upon application.

Work Schedule

This position requires a commitment to a rotating schedule that includes day and night shifts, with the expectation of working on weekends and holidays.
