Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

This is a Float Pool position that requires the Registered Nurse (RN) to be available for night shifts, weekends, and holidays. The RN will float to various Medical-Surgical Telemetry floors as needed and will be expected to work in like units and overflow areas.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a variety of Medical-Surgical Telemetry settings.
• Float to different units based on staffing needs and patient care demands.
• Conduct thorough patient assessments, develop care plans, and implement appropriate nursing interventions.
• Monitor patients’ vital signs and telemetry, accurately interpreting ECG readings.
• Administer medications as prescribed and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary team members to enhance patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Must be a Licensed Registered Nurse with a valid license.
• Minimum of 2 years of Med-Surg Telemetry experience is required.
• Ability to pass the Telemetry Competency Exam.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are mandatory.
• Documented professional development activities and experience as a charge nurse are preferred.

Additional Requirements

• Completion of ECG/Telemetry and Medications tests during the onboarding process, with a requirement to pass on the first attempt. A score of 85% or higher is necessary.
• Testing is administered through a Zoom meeting prior to assignment, and candidates must test within 48 hours of the job offer.
• Orientation occurs biweekly, and interviews will be conducted by the Nurse Manager.
• All requests for time off must be presented at the time of submission.
• Candidates who have worked in any capacity within the last six months must be separated from prior employment for at least six months to be considered.
