Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our psychiatric unit team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mental health and addiction recovery and be prepared to provide exceptional care to our diverse patient population.

Shift Details

  • Shift: Nights
  • Shift Length: 12 hours
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
  • Every other weekend and 3 out of 6 major holidays required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar psychiatric or residential rehabilitation setting.
  • BLS Certification required; crisis management training will be provided during orientation.
  • Experience with IV administration is essential.
  • Must be able to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.

Unit Information

  • Positions available across multiple psychiatric units with varying patient needs including addiction and mental health disorders.
  • Small to moderate patient census with low violence; predominantly medically cleared patients.
  • Understanding and comfort with addiction treatments like Suboxone and Methadone is required for certain units.
  • Focus on communication and compassion to help reduce stigma surrounding mental health and addiction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient assessments and administer medications during scheduled med passes.
  • Facilitate educational groups primarily focused on medication management.
  • Ensure patient compliance with facility rules; noncompliant patients may be removed from the unit.
  • Utilize restraints as necessary, adhering to restraint competencies outlined during orientation.
  • Maintain a clean and organized care environment, actively participating in patient care without remaining idle.

Working Environment

The facility provides a supportive atmosphere with a focus on patient-centered care. All staff are expected to engage actively with patients and collaborate closely within multidisciplinary teams. Flexibility and adaptability in response to patient needs and unit dynamics are essential.
