Acute Care Float Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

The Acute Care Float Registered Nurse will provide flexible patient care across multiple units as assigned by the nursing supervisor. This role requires versatility and adaptability to meet the needs of various departments while maintaining high standards of patient care.

Shift Details

• Shift: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM (12-hour shift with a 30-minute lunch break)
• Scheduling: Every other weekend required
• Block Scheduling: Not available

Responsibilities

As an Acute Care Float Registered Nurse, you will:

• Deliver high-quality nursing care across various units including medical comfort care, surgery and GI, trauma, oncology, nephrology, orthopedics, joint replacement, neuro, vascular, pulmonary, and cardiac.
• Adhere to staffing ratios, typically managing 1:6 patient assignments.
• Utilize Cerner EMR for accurate documentation and patient management.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a comparable acuity hospital setting.
• Travelers: First-time travelers will be considered.
• Certifications: Must possess a valid BLS certification.
• Licensure: Active and unencumbered RN license in TN or a multi-state license is required. Pending licenses will not be accepted.

Compliance Details

• Uniform: Scrubs are to be Royal Blue.

Additional Information

This position does not require on-call availability, and time off restrictions may apply. The nurse will float among various departments based on staffing needs to ensure quality care across all units.
