Registered Nurse (RN) – Peri Anesthesia

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Peri Anesthesia to join our team. The position requires a commitment to excellence in patient care, particularly in the perioperative setting.

Responsibilities

• Administer preoperative and postoperative care to patients undergoing various surgical procedures.
• Monitor and manage patients in the Phase I PACU and Pre-Op settings.
• Conduct thorough preoperative assessments and educate patients and their families about the surgical process.
• Work collaboratively with surgical teams to ensure a seamless patient experience.
• Handle emergency situations with professionalism and efficiency.
• Participate in call rotations as required, including weeknight, weekend, and holiday coverage.

Unit Information

• Bed Capacity: 19 preoperative/same day surgery beds and 12 Phase I PACU beds.
• Patient Ratios: An average of 2:1.
• Electronic Health Record: Epic and Omnicell.
• Patient Population: All age groups including pediatric patients.

Qualifications

• Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS.
• Years of Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a similar role.
• Skills and Experience:
  • Experience in an ambulatory/outpatient and inpatient settings, specifically in a Level III trauma center.
  • Profound knowledge in managing various surgical procedures, including orthopedic, general, and urological surgeries.
  • Ability to handle arterial line management and recognize/manage dysrhythmias.
  • Experience with procedural sedation and critical care practices.
• Preferred Experience: Trauma Level II, teaching hospital experience, familiarity with Cerner, and charge experience.

Dress Code

Scrubs will be provided, with navy blue allowable during specific procedures.
