Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our ICU/PCU team. The position demands expertise in critical care nursing and flexibility to float to Med-Surg units as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and educate patients and their significant others regarding their care needs using appropriate modalities.
• Ensure patient safety through preventative measures (e.g., side rails, restraints, and safe equipment use) in accordance with established policies.
• Demonstrate proficiency in the safe operation and troubleshooting of essential equipment within the PCU/Telemetry/Med-Surg areas.
• Implement infection control and isolation procedures, maintaining strict adherence to documentation protocols.
• Utilize standard precautions consistently and thoroughly document patient status and nursing interventions during each shift.
• Ensure accurate completion of physician orders and manage a 24-hour check of orders as needed.
• Provide comprehensive change of shift reports to incoming staff.
• Communicate effectively with other departments to promote optimal patient care.
• Report critical lab values to the physician promptly, following established policies.
• Maintain and restock emergency carts, rooms, and general supplies as necessary.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Additional Requirements

Holiday coverage is required. An active RN license in Washington State or a Multi-State RN license is mandatory.
