Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This role involves providing quality care to patients in a dynamic healthcare environment. As a key member of the nursing staff, you will be responsible for ensuring patient safety, comfort, and effective treatment protocols.

Shift Details

• 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend and holiday commitment required
• Self-scheduling with a balanced approach to staffing

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a medical-surgical unit
• Monitor and assess patient health status
• Administer medications and perform procedures as needed
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans
• Educate patients and families on health management
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical-surgical or telemetry unit
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Patient Ratios

• Medical-Surgical Unit: 5:1 ratio from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM, 6:1 ratio from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Telemetry Unit: 4:1 ratio from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM, 5:1 ratio from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM
